CHOOSE YOUR PATH / ASSOCIATE AGENT
Build experience. Work toward what's next.
The Associate Agent opportunity gives business professionals an opportunity of up to 24 months to develop production and meet requirements for a further Farmers agency ownership opportunity.
What the opportunity includes
- Commissions on applicable monthly production.
- New business and renewal commissions.
- University of Farmers training.
- Available district and territory office support.
- An opportunity for capital requirements to be reduced or waived based on qualifying results.
Successful completion may lead to a further appointment opportunity—including Retail or External Acquisition—when available and when all eligibility requirements are met.
What getting started involves
A satisfactory background check and, at minimum, an active Property & Casualty license. Life & Health licenses must be obtained to achieve production milestones and for full-time appointment.
Qualifying capital milestones
The supplied August 2026 material describes these combined requirements during the last 12 months as an appointed Associate agent:
| Requirement | Capital reduced to $50,000 | Capital waived |
|---|---|---|
| Qualifying new business gross folio premium | $100,000 | $150,000 |
| Personal Lines & Specialty new business, excluding Bristol West | 50 | 75 |
| Life issued and paid | 4 | 6 |
| Business Insurance new business count | 1 | 2 |
These are combined metrics, not alternatives. Eligibility and availability also apply. The source lists state-specific exceptions for Life and Business Insurance metrics; Ohio is not listed among those exceptions. Review current Ohio program terms with the district.
